Some flyers are intended to give people an at-a-glance understanding of an event as they walk by. Others are meant to be picked up and read, perhaps taken home to lead possible attendees to the web site and more information.
I've created many kinds of flyers over a number of years, from room party quarter-page flyers through full color campus posting flyers to teasers intended to get dedicated attendees salivating a year in advance.

One of the challengers of representing Penguicon in a flyer is that there are hundreds of hours of incredibly diverse programming, and it is very difficult to get a feel for that at a glance.
Last year's promotional flyer showed a diversity of events, a wide range of Guests of Honor, and photos of people having fun in unique ways from previous Penguicons.
