The convention badge is an essential element for attendees.  Not only does it have to be stylish enough that they wont' be embarrassed to wear it around their necks, but it must reflect the style of the organization and the theme of the given year.

 

Additionally, it must be extremely easy to read the name of an attendee at a distance so Operations staff and Security can deal with attendee conflicts.

 

I've designed Penguicon's badges for 4 years, with artwork based on the cover image of each Souvenir book. Previously convention badges were printed using only black ink on colored paper stock.
