The Penguicon welcome banner is an essential element of the event - it helps attendees and passers-by alike understand what the event is all about at a glance. This banner replaces an outdated simple banner without much in the way of style.
All of the artwork and photography on the banner were done by myself.
This banner has been to concerts, the Detroit Maker Faire, and other events where we promote Penguicon, including conventions across the country.

Sometimes you get an opportunity to make something a little more artistic and less obvious.
The Lucky Lake Burner Library banner, intended for an outdoor arts festival, was a chance to work with something fun and irreverent - the burning latin and greek letters on either side say essentially, "back off, I'm reading!"
